About Me

Biography

I am a Christian, husband, father of three, pastor, apologist, theologian, and counselor. I currently pastor in Slater, Iowa, after having served in other churches for over 15 years as a senior pastor, interim pastor, and youth pastor. I regularly speak at churches, conferences, and camps on apologetics, theology, counseling, and Christian living.

I grew up on the East Coast in Maryland before moving to Iowa as a child. At 16 years old, God saved me from my sins and gave me a purpose to proclaim and defend the Gospel as true, beautiful, and life-changing.

Professional Interests

My doctoral research focused on the attributes of God, divine simplicity, and the Trinity in both ancient and modern contexts, but I also speak and write on the historical Jesus and the case for the resurrection, the creation/evolution debate, the philosophy of science, gender and sexuality, and general issues in apologetics, theology, church history, ethics, philosophy, counseling, and church ministry.

Personal Interests

I spend what free time I have enjoying my time with my wife and daughters. I also enjoy shooting sports, tomahawk and knife throwing, and bullwhip cracking. I am a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoy weightlifting and other fitness pursuits, as well as playing guitars and drums.
